North Babylon sent two Varsity teams and one Junior Varsity team to The History Bowl and Bee at Torah Academy in Teaneck, NJ on Sunday November 16th.  The Varsity Team, Captain John C; Emmanuel N; Cameron S; and Zachary T; had a great day, with a 7 and 1 record.  They finished second overall in the bowl and qualified for the Nationals, which will be held in Washington D.C. in April 2015. 

 

The Junior Varsity Team, Captain Haggai A; Matthew P; Noah R; and Billy A. placed third overall in their division.  The History Bee is a heads up competition between individual players.  Haggai A. placed first in the History Bee for the Junior Varsity division, and Matthew P. placed 9th; both of them qualified for the History Bee Nationals in D.C.  Noah R. is the first North Babylon student ever to compete in the Geography Bee AND he came in 1st place in the Junior Varsity division, qualifying himself for the Nationals in D.C. 

 

John C. placed second in the History Bee for the Varsity division, and Emmanuel, Cameron, and Zachary all finished in the top 10 in the History Bee, which qualified them to compete in the History Bee Nationals. It was an awesome day for North Babylon! This is the 7th consecutive year North Babylon has qualified teams and individuals for the National History Bee and Bowl, and the first time we qualified for the Geography Bee. Go Bulldogs!
