As a culminating activity in their farm unit, kindergarten students in Tara Malone’s, Janine Maresca’s and Christine Sussman’s classes at North Babylon’s Belmont Elementary School hosted a special performance for their parents. Dressed as various farm animals, the students sang along to “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” while presenting facts about the animals they studied. During their unit of study, the students read fiction and nonfiction books about life on a farm, learned about farm animals and crops, and visited the Yaphank Farm to see firsthand what they were studying.

As a special treat for the parents in attendance at the “Old MacDonald” performance, the three teachers put together a short photo slideshow showcasing daily classroom activities.
