Kindergartners at Belmont Elementary School in the North Babylon School District welcomed friends and family to their annual Special Persons Day celebration on June 13. During the event, organized by kindergarten teachers Seri Doyle, Christine Sheard and Angela Valdemia, the students sang songs with a specific purpose in mind: “To share with you the world of kindergarten and some of the hard things we do.”

With cameras in hand, the special guests watched and listened as the students showcased their counting and phonics skills with songs such as “Apples and Bananas” and “Number Rock.” To conclude the program, the kindergarten students thanked their guests for attending and enthusiastically said, “Kindergarten has been great, but first grade is coming and we can’t wait!”
